The first edition thus, being the first American edition translated by Edgar Prestage, and published by Thomas Bird Mosher.Former owner's inscription to front free endpaper, binder's stamp to verso of front free endpaper.In a bright full calf signed binding from Otto Schulze, this is a lovely edition of this passionate work, first published in 1669. In a full calf signed binding, with gilt detailing. Rubbing to back strip head and tail, with light discolouration to back strip. Inscription to front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound.
