He was well known for his literary accomplishments within the Victorian era, as well as his art studies. With a prior owner's ink inscription to front pastedown, belonging to Elizabeth Cowling.Collated, complete. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Minimal bumping to the extremities and the head and tail of spine. Marks and discolouration to boards and spine. Wear along the front band of joint has resulted in the cloth beginning to expose the boards. Prior owner's ink inscription to front paste down. Internally, firmly bound.
