It was given for the New York Historical Society in New York. Written by the 6th President of the United States, John Quincy Adams. With the contemporary ownership inscription of James Edward Beers to the front cover, blank and title page. In a half calf binding. Externally rather worn; front board is loose, and the backstrip is generally lacking, with just a small portion extant. Extremities are bumped and the boards are worn.
