Issued by the West's Gas Improvement Company. The system was introduced by John West in collaboration in Samuel Glove. Some successful experiments in 1917 on the simultaneous generation of water-gas produced large development in the gas industry. This volume outlines the development of the work done during and since the war, with photographs and plans in black and white illustrating the various instalments and expansion of the retorts. In the original publisher's full cloth binding, with titles in gilt to the spine. Externally generally sound with some shelf wear and bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Library labels to the front board, with stamps to the front pastedown, title page. Internally, the binding is slightly tender. The pages are generally very clean and bright throughout, only minor light soiling to the first and last few leaves, as common with this type of paper. Illustrated in text throughout. Good .
