It is a work full of nostalgia for university days, and gives a fabulous description of Edinburgh University in the early twentieth century. Written anonymously by four graduates, and published 'at John Knox's House by William J. Hay&apos. In the original paper wraps and including a beautifully illustrated frontispiece.This was the personal copy of David W.H. Walton, a British botanist and ecologist who attended Edinburgh University, noted by his bookplate to the front free-endpaper.This copy came from the library at Julians Park, Hertfordshire, the previous home of Audrey Pleydell-Bouverie (1902-1968). She was an English socialite and through her mother was the illegitimate granddaughter of King Edward VII. In the original paper wraps. Externally, some discolouration to spine and extremities of the wraps. Some loss to the head and tail of the spine and some general shelf wear to the wrap. Bookplate of David W.H.
