A charming work of reference outlining instructions for the training and movements of the British cavalry. Illustrated with numerous full page plates, numbered I-XVI and I-XLVIII, lacking plates IV of the second lot. In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally sound with some shelf wear and chipping, a touch of edge wear some minor loss to the head and tail of the spine. The boards and spine are slightly soiled, with a damp mark to the rear boar. Internally, the binding is tender, with the occasional plate loose but present. The pages very clean throughout with some age toning, as usual, and some pencil marginal annotation and underlining throughout. With a tide marking to the rear leaves, cockling the leaves slightly.
