This is the thirty-seventh report, a very scarce volume. Founded in 1853, the Science and Art Department was a British government body which promoted education in art, science, technology, and design in Britain and Ireland. It functioned up until 1899. A report on the progress of the department, with information on the results for the examinations between 1888 and 1889, a measure of the success and failure, of the board of visitors of the science and art museum, and more. With various appendixes.  In a half calf binding over marbled boards with five raised bands. Externally smart with some shelf wear and some rubbing to the leather as well as a minor scuffing. Internally, firmly bound. Some of the leaves are slightly cockled due to tight binding. The pages are clean with only a touch of age toning, as usual. Very Good . Ill.: None. Very Good .
