Collated, complete.Anonymously published, most of the twenty stories are either set in Australia or concern voyages either to or from Australia, and tell tales containing convicts, Aborigines, buried treasure and shipwrecks. Many of these stories originally appeared in either the Victorian era periodical 'The Leisure Hour', which ran weekly from 1852 to 1905, or the magazine 'Sunday at Home' published weekly by The Religious Tract Society from 1854 to 1940.A prize bookplate dated December 1902 demonstrates that this work was given to 'Frank Carpenter' by St Andrew's Church Sunday School, Grimsby. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Marks and rubbing to the front board, with slight discolouration to spine. Bumping to extremities and spine head and tail. Stain to rear board. Light cockling to perimeters of rear board. Prize bookplate to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Small closed tear to head of title page. Pages bright and clean. Good . Ill.: Not Stated.
