A very scarce and charming volume comprising a miscellany of four short stories and poems for children, with twenty four lovely coloured plates. A very scarce copy of this work. Undated, dated from Jisc 1870. A charming volume for children containing four works of fiction: My Mother, being a poem dedicated to the author's mother (as well as any other); and three short stories titled The Dog's Dinner-Party, The White Cat, and Little Dog Trusty. Illustrated throughout with beautiful coloured plates. Collated, only lacking one plate to 'My Mother.' In the original publisher's cloth binding with illustrations and titles in gilt to the front board. Externally smart with minor shelf wear and a slight edgewear, with a minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. The cloth to the spine is slightly chipped and rubbed. Internally, firmly bound. With the occasional faint offsetting to the leaves, although the pages are generally bright and clean throughout. With a minor closed tear to the blank page following page 1 of 'My Mother' as well as to page 3 of 'Little Dog Trusty,' repaired by a previous owner, and possibly the cause of the minor cockling to the leaf. Illustrated with twenty two colourful plates. Collated, lacking only one plate to 'My Mother.' Good . Ill.: Not Stated. Good .
