His poetry and art were often interwoven, writing sonnets to accompany his artwork and vice versa. He married Elizabeth Siddal, who was considered a muse for Pre-Raphaelite painters. His work was influenced by medievalism.Profusely illustrated with one hundred and seven full plates depicting the subject's work as well as the subject. In a quarter cloth binding.
