A very scarce work. This volume of 'Tales from the Hills of Yorkshire' is labelled as being Part II, and dated as May 1868. The original price was one penny. There is an advert to the rear wrap for Part III, advertising that it will contain "The Balaclava Charge", as well as adverts for local boot makers. This volume contains; Chapter I, The Spoliation of a Home - The Vow Chapter II, "The Babes in the Wood" - Adopted by the Priory Chapter III, Off to the Wars - The Plot Chapter IV, Sacrilege - Retribution In the original publisher's paper wraps. Externally, smart. Minor markings to the wraps, with a very little edgewear to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound.
