This very scarce copy of 'Regilding the Crescent' is a condescend look at the 'who's who' and 'what's what' in Turkey during the late nineteenth century to early twentieth century. The book looks at the politics, the religions in the country, the 1908-9 revolution, reforms, and possible problems that the country could face in the future, Frederick Aflalo was a passionate fisherman, who travelled and wrote about his experiences in his biography 'The Salt of My Life&apos. He wrote about his successes and failures as a fisherman, not shying away from admitting his failures. Prior owner's ink inscription the the recto of the front endpaper, 'William Passmore, Ringmer House.. 21 April 1913&apos. With a frontispiece and twenty-three monochrome plates. Bound without the map of the dominion opposing page 70, as is common with this work. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Light fading to the spine. Small marks to the rear board and spine has caused a little discolouration. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Minor spotting to the fore edge. Slight offsetting to the recto of the front endpaper, and to the verso of the rear endpaper. Prior owner's ink inscription the the recto of the front endpaper, 'William Passmore, Ringmer House.. 21 April 1913&apos. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with the odd scattered spot throughout, mostly to the first and last few pages. Lacking plate facing page 70. Very Good . Ill.: Not Stated. Very Good .
