De kaart is de tweede staat van de eerder (in 1590) door Petrus Plancius uitgegeven editie. De naam van Plancius is vervangen door D.R.M. Mathes. Marges links en rechts op professionele wijze verbreed. Hoogte 28,5 cm. Breedte 51,5 cm. Old, antique world map in two hemispheres. Title in Latin and in Dutch above the map. Beautifully engraved latticework and scrollwork motifs around the two hemispheres. Highly decorative map. Spine blank. Hand-coloured copper engraving, published in Amsterdam in 1621. The map is the second state of the edition published earlier (in 1590) by Petrus Plancius. The name of Plancius has been replaced by D.R.M. Mathes. Margins professionally widened left and right.
