Unprinted spine has remnants of white library numbers. Brown end-papers have small library stamps. Front paste-down: private bookplate. Rear end-papers: slip and pocket removed. Blind stamped on title page and p. 17. Mostly minor soil within, small poem laid-in with newspaper browning to two leaves. Brief paragraphs plus 1- to 3-page-long anecdotes to relate to the young'uns. Wonderful engraved ilustrations throughout. Gift inscription first blank page dated 1874. Good.
