Hardback, octavo, appx 5 3/4 x 9 inches, pp [viii] + text #'d 241-583, as is ex-library in dj (the library's old dj mylar replaced with a new clear protective mylar). Tight binding with hinges intact & internal pages of text generally in great condition (including photographic b&w plates on glossy stock), but of three maps, two present in the text while fold-out map at the rear has been removed (The Main Towns and Villages of Sicily) . Other than that, not a lot of use or abuse other than the library's. DJ: spine fading to background color + a little additional uneven fading. Two tape stains each to front & rear pastedowns. Library's pocket, slip & withdrawn stamp to ffep. At the rear: Bibliography for both vols. 1&2, Index for both vols. 1&2 - this being volulme two only of the two volume set, and is offered "as is" due to being ex-library and due to the missing map. Fair/Good.
