Title: Meeting of James Joyce Society October 23, 1951 - FINNEGANS WAKE
Description: NY, Folkways Records, 1951. 1951. No Binding . Very nice boxed 2-album set (12", long-play) with printed transcript enclosed. Features James Joyce reading. Recorded at Gotham Book Mart. Folkways set FL 9594, Literature Series, LP #'s FP 93 & 94, Transcript is 8 1/2 x 11 inches, saddle-stapled, 8-pages, which includes p.7 blank and p.8 list of Folkways Records. Transcript has a small stain to both f&b cover and a small ballpoint squiggle near top corner of front cover. Records are in Very Good + to Near Mint condition (one is VG+ and one is NM), with one original unprinted sleeve and one replacement sleeve (the album in original sleeve may have never been played). The thin record box (about 3/8ths inch thick, or 1.1 cm) is in quite nice condition with only one corner "gently" split and a fore-edge kink or two. Box is black paper-covered boards with a black cloth backstrip (gold titles). Back of box blank. Front of box has nearly full-sized paper label pastedown (printed in black with blue background and some white reversed out) in generally very nice condition - just a very few tiny edge chips, one very small scratch, and one rather discrete, light smudge remaining where a grease-pencil price has been about entirely removed. This album cover features a pencil drawing profile of Joyce's head and a large reproduction of his signature. Very Good.
