Title: English Literature, Considered As an Interpreter of English History - Designed as a Manual of Instruction (9th Ed.)
Description: Philadelphia, Edward Meeks, no date (1880's). 1880. Hardcover . Hardback, small octavo, appx 5 1/2 x 7 7/8 inches, half-leather binding, navy blue cloth covered boards with a gilt titled red leather back strip, Near VG/no dj. Some wear obviously, but remains rather attractive. Covers have light surface and edgewear + corner bumps (not too severe), corners just rubbed through & rubbing and wear at spine-ends and joints with perhaps slightly worse than minor loss of leather & splitting. Brown end-papers are very clean, hinges are intact with binding solid. 2nd blank page has orig. owner's name, etc. in ink: "Miss Mab Gates, Wolfe Hall, Denver, Colo. Jan. 28th, 1889". Name also written across fore-edges of text; "MAB GATES". Interior mostly very nice. A few light pencil marks. Looks to be thorough and most interesting/informative. Very Good.
