Title: THE FIRE REGAINED (Inscribed and Signed Copy)
Description: NY, Knickerbocker Press (G.P. Putnam's Sons), 1913. 1913. Hardcover . Hardback, 12mo, appx 5 1/8 x 7 1/4 inches, gilt on maroon cloth, [iv] + 42 pages, VG+/no dj. Scant bit of wear at tips, very minor age-darkening to cloth along spine, a few small stray marks & spots to back cover + a very small scratch to spine. Plates on glossy stock (art & sculpture). On the FFEP, there appears, I'm hazarding, to be an inscription (a gift inscription?) made by the author's brother Nathaniel: "To dear Mr. Mxxxx, with the best will and admiration of N.D. Hirsch, May 8th, '25." Nathaniel was a member of the Fugitive Group early on until he took leave for Harvard. (If the author had a wife, the inscription also could well have been made by her, but I've found no reference to confirm or deny her existence.) , Very Good.
