Title: THE BROTHER'S LEGACY, or Better Than Gold
Description: Edinburgh, William P. Nimmo, 1872. 1872. Hardcover . Hardback, 24mo, appx 3 3/4 x 5 3/4 inches (9.7 x 14.7 cm), decorative gilt/black/embossed blue cloth with a decorative diecut title pastedown to front board, 108 pages, Fair condition. (Some repair might bring it up to a Good minus?) Anyway, splitting along joints, edges are rubbed, fraying mostly at spine-ends. A repair job might have already been rendered, here, a number of years ago. As it is, the title page and the colorful frontis seem to have traded places in the page sequence. If there ever was a FFEP, it is now absent. Seems to be a RFEP absent, for certain. All edges gilt, but the pages themselves don't "fit" at the edges, as though loose pages rebound. Some yellowing and soil to the text (but not a great deal) + an edge tear or two. Hand lettering to front pastedown notes the book as a Sunday School book. The story seems to be interesting and well-written. Please accept as is. (I'd be happy to re-transpose the tp and frontis for anyone interested in purchasing.) , Fair.
