Hardback, small octavo, appx 6 1/4 x 8 1/4 inches, black/gilt/embossed on decorated red cloth, pp 407 + [i] , Good Only. A bit shabby, but not too, too shabby. Beveled boards are scuffed at corners. The spine-ends are rubbed with uniform loss of cloth - certainly a serious short-coming, but not too unsightly. Spine moderately darkened. Decorated endpapers. Hinges split with covers wiggling a bit (problem will be carefully remedied). Text block a sound unit and interior mostly very nice with only a smudge or two. Illustrated - extensive use of decorative elements + full-page engravings. Flourishing gift inscription in pencil to first blank page. Last page is an ad for the Audiophone (for the deaf). Good.
