Title: Allegro Vivace - The History of Champagne, Cava and the Sparkling Wines of the World
Description: Barcelona/Sant Sadurni d'Anoia, Freixenet, 1988. 1988, 1st Edition. Hardcover with dust jacket. Hardback, 4to, appx 9 3/4 x 12 inches (25 x 31 cm), 278 pages, VG or better in like dj. At a glance, appears near fine in like dj, but lower corner of the back board is bumped & it appears that the book may have fallen into a liquid such as coffee (or perhaps champagne). Beneath the dj at this lower corner is a fist-sized stain to both the unprinted side of the dj and the dark green cloth of the book. Lower edges of text (externally) show a medium-sized tan stain. Small and rather light stain to lower corners of the last 25 pages of the book (12 to 15 leaves) + small, light stain at lower edge of most pages thorughout the book. Information on bottles, glasses, cork, labels, historic paintings, vintage photographs, vintage advertising, television commercials, modern methods, recipes (cooking with champagne and cava, 60+ full-page recipes with inset photographs showing glassware of Lalique, Tiffany, Rosenthal, Worcester, Orient Express, Art Deco, etc.), Pedro Ferrer Bosch, etc, etc. Four-page "Saga of the Ferrers of Freixenet" is laid in. Large, heavy book. Extra Shipping. Very Good/Very Good.
