Title: THE TERRY BOOK
Description: Lyons & Carnahan, 1930. 1930. Hardcover . Saddle-stapled in stiff card covers, 12mo, appx 5 3/8 x 7 3/8 inches, 47 pages, Good-. So there's this dog, Terry (apparently a terrier), who plays with Jack and Jane and Kitty. Anyway, front cover illustrated, black on red. All 47 pages but 1 feature a colorful "Dick and Jane" type of illustration. Combination of (1) - at least moderate wear with a little abuse thrown in and (2) - it's actually survived pretty well in spite of all. Covers are moderately soiled and worn, show rounded corners. Nearly an inch at heel of spine is split & in addition to the covers, the split is present throughout the book. Binding holding pretty well, though, as the cover stock seems pretty tough, the publisher's cloth reinforcing strip present at the centerfold gutter and 3-staples were used in the binding process. Some edge tears within, minor soiling, staining and general signs of wear throughout + one upper corner missing (no color or type affected). Page 1 has a hole and a scuff affecting the one line "I am Terry" for which someone has sort of made a patch with a piece of paper and written in 3 missing letters in pencil (and repeated the full line below that, also in pencil). Damaged, but still charming - and scarce. Enough imperfection to merit an "as is". Good.
