Binding remains mostly solid, though rear hinge split. A little browning to endpapers (and half-title, since FFEP absent), otherwise interior mostly very clean. One upper corner opened a little roughly with a small corner chip missing. Covers show minor to moderate rubbing at corners, moderate amount of soil + spine cloth faded and soiled (gilt still easily legible). This book seems to have been prompted by the author's initial response (and some ensuing dialogue) to an essay by Hall Caine in a December 1901 "British Weekly" entitled "The Gospel and The Social Question". Good.
