Title: PARAPHRASED PROVERBS
Description: Princeton, New Jersey, Graphics Room Edition, 1933. 1933. Hardcover . Hardback, thin 12mo, dark red cloth with black cloth backstrip (printed paper labels to upper board as well the spine), [viii] + 55 + [iii] total pages, Near or About VG/no dj (probably as issued). Boards show only light wear. Light fading at spine. All four endpapers show rather small amount of red staining at margins (from moisture to boards, but barely noticeable externally). Privately printed "especially for my former students." FFEP contains two gift inscsriptions - one dated 1984, the other apparently in the author's hand, though unsigned, reading "Mrs. _ _ _ _, with the cordial regards of the author." Facing the Preface page is a tipped in photo of the author that he refers to in the preface. As an example, #27 reads: "For None Will Old Chronos or Neptune delay, These Cronies Keep all their Engagements Each day." The Index has the actual Proverb #27 reading: "Time and tide wait for No one." Author was C.E. Rensselaer, Hon. A.M. Princeton, Professor Emeritus of Graphics at Princeton. Very Good.
