DJ mostly bright and clean, but has some chips out (including spine-ends) + long taped tear extending from back flap across upper corner of back panel, as well as appx 3-inch upper corner of back panel of dj is missing. This corner has missing copy (which could be scouted for, copied and replaced.) DJ splitting a bit at the folds and light crack up the spine with a couple of small pieces of tape to unprinted side. Book's binding solid, hinges fine, interior and exterior very clean. Illustrated endpapers with couple of small scuffs (bookplate removal) hidden beneath front flap in non-image areas of the drawing in front pastedown's upper left corner (if any image lost, only a minuscule amount). Author's THE YEARLING won 1939 Pulitzer Prize. Indexed. Very Good/Fair.
