Hardback, small thin octavo, appx 5 3/8 x 8 inches, with dark brown titles and decorations + silver-stamped coats-of-arms (one front, one back) on light brown cloth, 227 pages + ads, VG/no dj. Preface dated May, 1895. Both "Parts" included in this one volume. End-papers are printed in red (map & state flower front/ads rear), hinges fine. Many engravings in the work + photos. Minor corner bumps, light stain or two to each board and spine, spotting to top edges. Very light foxing shown on an interior page or two. Neat p.o.n. (Alice Faulkner) in pencil script top of FFEP. Pea-sized brown stain affects 8 early pages (last page of preface, contents, first 4 pages of text, with stain quite light on the first 2 and the last 2 affected pages, rather dark on the middle 4 affected pages and very little type affected). A few lines of geneaological notes (not Ms. Faulkner's hand?) in fountain pen on one page that pertain to Ethan Allen's father, mother, aunts, subsequent marriages. (maternal lineage? - Mary Baker, Remember or Remembrance, Warner, Dr. Benjamin, Col. Seth) , Very Good.
