This booklet covers the discovery and exploration of the regions around [present-day] New York (pointing out that Henry Hudson, though an Englishman, was sent to America by the ""VOC" ( Dutch East India Company) the Folding map [54,5 x 42 cm.] "Kaart van Nieuw-Nederland" gives the American coast from Delaware to Maine, and extends inland as far as the St. Lawrence River and a small part of Lake Ontario. Drawn by J.P. Bourje and engraved by J.C. Bendorp.A very detailed map, giving all the Dutch forts. A mediocre copy of this scarce little volume; Original publishers wrappers with printed spine label, some stains, top and foot of spine gone. Lower right hand corner of title page and PP. 1 to 7 with paper losses, some [blank! ] parts missing, no loss of text!! See: Sabin: 38745. Apart for the mentioned defect a complete copy of a scarce volume, needing the skillfull hand of your restorer.. Fair.
