Backhuizen and 4 full page prints by the esteemed Romeijn de Hooghe, as used in the 1St. Edition of this work. (Goes 1647 - Rotterdam 1684) Contemporary full calf, spine with raised bands, richly gilt, central ornament at covers, within a framework of 2 x double filet-lines with corner fleurons. (small piece of foot missing) v.d. G. was the crown-prince of XVII-th. Century Dutch poets, after Vondel. His esteem came with De Ystroom. Contains a lengthy introduction by David van Hoogstraten. Some browning in places, but a collectible copy of a fine work of poetry. Fine/No Jacket.
