In contemporary, fine, uniform 1/2 leather. Spines with raised bands, gilded. Titles in gold letters, marbled boards. See Carteret:Vol. III p. 245-51 A true encyclopedia of French XIX-Th. Century life. Many "cries", trades and professions, " types" are represented here, as are Le Juif, l'Arabe, & so on. A very good and complete copy in a seductive binding. Some browning and foxing in places, some slight scuffmarks at bindings, else very, very good. Fine/No Jacket.
