Description: In Verona, Per Pierantonio Berno Stampatore, e Librario nella Via de' Leoni, 1727. 4to, 22 x 150 mms., pp. [x], 152, with woodcut vignette on title-page, and numerous engraved vignettes in text, original limp paper boards, with title in ink (but faded) on front cover, visible stitching; front hinge open with cords exposed, covers a bit soiled, small defects on spine, but a reasonable copy with a very clean text. This was one of the last publications of the gifted architect and mathematician, Lodovico Perini (1685 - 1731). He studied practical geometry and perspective with the Gasparo Bighignato guide and later Domenico Rossetti. Perini aimed to make the principles of geometry applicable to practical activities and undertakings in land management, surveying, architecture, etc. The woodcut engravings in the text provide very useful visual guides to measuring dimensions, calculating volume, and constructing tools and implements.
