Title: A Concordance to the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament, by the Rev. John Brown, of Haddington. Miniature Edition.
Description: [London], Printed by C. Corrall. Sold by Hurst, Chance & Co...., 1828. 16mo (in 8s), 104 x 63 mms., unpaginated, [$2], A-M8, attractively bound in straight-grain maroon morocco, gilt border on covers, gilt spine, all edges gilt; front joint rubbed, but a very good to fine copy, with a neatly written presentation inscription at the head of the title page: "Elizabeth Coddington / from Bill - Decr 25th 1831." The facing page has a verse inscription signed "J.C." There is also an inscription on the recto of the front free end-paper in ink almost the same colour as the paper, but I think it reads, "Bessie Lindsay/ from Grandpa/ April 21st 1864/ Sidmouth." Finally, the inscription "Bessie Lindsay April 1864" is found on the outer margin of A6r. The preface of this "Miniature Edition" emphasizes its miniatureness: "This edition, designed for the pocket, has been executed with a particular regard for portability, and possesses the peculiar recommendation of being the smallest ever printed." The printer might not have been aware of much smaller imprints decades before this one. The only copy that I could find is in Elkhart, Indiana, in the library of the Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary. There is a similar copy in the NLS, printed by Corral for Gale and Fenner.
