Description: London: Printed at the Philanthropic Reform..., 1798. FIRST AND ONLY EDITION. Tall 8vo, 213 x 125 mms., pp. [iv], viii, 115 [116 blank], contemporary calf (worn with front cover detached), with a leaflet in Welsh, from The Gwynn Publishing co. dated "Tachwedd [November] 1938", with printed publisher's name, W. S. Gwyn Williams, loosely inserted, and an ownership inscription dated 1915 [?"H. Fieldgrove"], with a presentation inscription to Williams, "With the compliments of Hw. / to W. S. G. Williams/1920." The recipient William Stanley Gwynn Williams (1896 – 1978) was a composer and publisher, with a special interest in Welsh music. Most of the songs are taken from 17th and 18th century sources, with text only and no music.
