Description: Amstelodami, Apud Danielem Elzebirium 1664 12mo, 129 x 63 mms., pp. 336 [337 - 352 Index], fine engraved title-page, contemporary red morocco, gilt border on covers, spine ornately gilt; a little wear to corners and very slight wear to front joint, but generally a very good copy. A copy of this edition was in Jonathan Swift's library, now in the Swift collection at the University of Pennsyvania. This is a reimpression line for line of the Leyden edition of 1657, which was a line for line reimpression of the edition of 1638, the text of which was the work of French scholar Claude Saumaise (1558 - 1653), first published in 1609, with the 1638 text including the editio princeps of the Liber Memorialis of Lucius Ampelius.
