Description: London: Published by Jones and Company..., 1824. 16mo, 89 x 52 mms., pp. vii [viii Contents], 46, engraved frontispiece, additional engraved title-page, contemporary polished calf, spine ornately gilt in compartments to a floral motif, olive morocco label, ducal crown bookplate with cypher initials (HLM) on front paste-down end-paper; front joint a little dubious, but an attractive copy. The "biographical sketch" is by Samuel Johnson. Most copies seem to have a letter-press title-page dated 1825; the date on the engraved title-page in all Copac copies is 1824, with copies at BL, Cambridge, National Trust. However, some copies of the Jones imprint that are dated 1825 have only 14 pages and are larger (180 mms.), e. g. the copy at Yale.
