Author: HUNGARY. Title: Respublica et Status Regni Hungariae.
Description: [Leiden] Ex Officina Elzeveriana. 1634. 16mo, 103 x 54 mms., pp. 330 [331 Privilege, 332 blank], including engraved title-page, at head of page [5] headpiece with two birds, and with "anno similiter vigesimo octavo" as last line on p.330, contemporary vellum. A fine copy. The work begins with a description of the kingdom of Hungary, its origin, and the history of its kings, and the establishment of the sovereignty of the Holy Crown. The anonymous author, who seems curiously shy about giving specific dates (there are some, but not many), concludes with a commentary on the political, ecclesiastical, and military establishments in Hungary. Willems 409.
