Mrs. Cobb (1773 - 1802) became a member of a Baptist church group early in life and began keeping her diary in 1791, three years before her marriage. The editor of this spiritual autobiography notes, "It seems necessary to state explicitly that Mrs. C. was a Dissenter and a Baptist to the last...."
