Huntington (1745 - 1813), the preacher and religious writer, was the natural son of a Kent farmer, Barnabas Russel, though he was baptized with the name of his putative father, Hunt. Following the example of his biological father, he also fathered a child out of wedlock but was prevented from marrying her.
