Spine is worn, especially at lower end; boards are somewhat rubbed, with a couple of bits of paper stuck to the front; front hinge a little weak, but otherwise contents very good condition. Gift inscription in lovely 19th century hand - "Captain Roxburgh, a token of regard & remembrance from C. R. Kolbing [?], Missionary of the United Brethren's Church, Genadendel, 18 May 1845" Take this to be Genadendal, Moravian Mission Station at the Cape, the oldest mission station in South Africa, also site of first teachers' training college in South Africa. Boards, leather spine. Good Plus/No Jacket.
