Some index leaves unpaginated, otherwise pagination continuous throughout; two mispaginations, catchwords following in order, two leaves creased in printing with some distortion of text; one leaf (Dd7) with stain and small hole, (small loss of text), otherwise staining largely confined to vellum and endpapers, and apart from a few isolated instances, remarkable only at margins in later leaves. Gift inscription (1895) at front paste-down endpaper, notes in early hands at engraved title, and facing. All sound. As theologian and rector of the Jesuit college in Douai, in the same year, Henricus Sommalius also edited the Confessions.
