Thick, small octavo, full vellum with intricate gilt decoration at spine, black leather title label, double-line gilt border; [6] pp.25-38 (Rubricae Generales second part, De Laudibus XIV to De Officio parvo beatae Maria et aliis XXXVII) xvi, 24pp. (including Rubricae Generales first part, De Officio Duplici, I to De Matutino XIII), 876pp. 120pp. 72pp. [11]. Gauffered edges. Vellum very lightly stained, gilt a little dulled, title leaf strained, starting a little, nowhere near detachment; some staining at centre of text block at Supplementum, light staining at endpapers, blank facing title is tanned; rear joint strained near tail, second rear blank also tanned, and with English translations from Dies Irae in an early hand. Double-column main text is almost completely untroubled by foxing (a little at prelims. last few leaves), has a couple of very minor stains, and is generally in good, clean order. Armorial bookplate of John Ernest Smith Masters, with his signature and note (1913) at verso fly-leaf. A very nice volume.
