One volume only with remarkable foxing at text leaves, elsewhere largely confined to endpapers; volume three lacking pp. 81-92, next leaf detached but present; binding at first volume more worn and dried out than the rest. Text throughout largely clean, all volumes (except II, as mentioned) reasonably sound, and certainly usable. Illustrated, and vol. IX with detached map of early Birmingham loosely inserted.
