Quarto by size, artificial leather (extremities rubbed); 16,25,23,26,25 leaves printed on one side from typescript. ¶ A local translation, clearly privately produced but not without some ambition and style. Meagher adds a preface on the nature of translation and his own effort along with a life of Ovid. Sydney University has a bundle of Meagher's papers, letters and typescripts which includes this along with other translations, poems, letters, esays and lectures which range from Ovid to Joyce and Ern Malley. There is a copy of this in Sydney Tomholt's papers in the National Library so he did circulate it some extent.
