Early one-half brown leather over marbled boards, spine with 5 raised bands with gilt-decorations, lettered in gilt in two compartments, lg 4to. This monograph documents the molluscan and crustacean fauna New York State. Two old institutional stamps on the title page, ink stamp on rear side of title page of Bibliotheca Mt. St. Alphonsus, New York, old bookplate removed from rear endpaper. No newer ownership marks. The fine hand-colored plates are very bright and clean, there is some scattered foxing to the text, a few text pages have a faint watermark (see photos); overall a tight and clean copy in very good condition..
