The volume is expertly rebacked with the original spine cloth laid on and with new yellow endpapers added that match the original endpapers. First from the research collection of James Gillespie of Carroll College with his signature on the front endpaper, later from the collection of herpetologist Lauren E. Brown with his signature also on the front endpaper. Small water stain to the top outer corner of the page edges without touching the text, a few spots (flecking) to the cloth of the rear cover, light edgewear to the cloth outer corners, overall a tight copy in very good condition..
