This is Osborn’s classic study of the evolution of mammals in three continents. From the research collection of Dr. A. R. Shadle with his name stamp and signature on the front endpapers. Shadle (1885–1963) was an American biologist noted for his research into porcupines and beavers. From 1919 until 1953, Shadle served as chairman of the biology department, and was instrumental in the advancement of science education at the State University of New York at Buffalo. Later from the research collection of American herpetologist Lauren E. Brown with his signature on the front free endpaper. Cloth on spine lightly sunned, a tight and clean copy in very good condition..
