A detailed review of reptiles and batrachians of the Malay Archipelago defined as the area south of British Burma and the isthmus of Kra to Singapore and including all adjacent islands within the twenty-fathom line but excluding the Rhio-Lingga archipelago. There is a great section on the turtles and tortoises of the area as well much information on the numerous species of the Geckonidae. Single name-stamp of herpetologist Lauren Brown at the top of the title page, no other ownership marks and no signs of use. Rare work. Light wear to the cloth at the head and foot of the spine, small bump to bottom outer front corner, a very bright and clean copy in near fine condition..
