This monograph explores the natural history and surface anatomy of the Japanese bullhead shark (Heterodontus japonicus). This volume is from the research library of ichthyologist Ernest A. Lachner who was curator of fishes at the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History for 34 years; his name-stamp and signature appear on the front wrapper and on title page. There is a bump to the top rear outer corner and the paper is worn at the base of the spine; a bright and clean copy in near fine condition..
