Title: Cranial and Postcranial Skeletal Remains from Easter Island.
Description: Minneapolis, MN: University of Minnesota Press, 1968. First edition. Pp. (6), 105; 8 black-and-white photo-plates of skulls, 5 text-figures (line-drawings and maps). Publisher's original purple cloth, lettered in gilt on the spine, color pictorial dust jacket, 4to. This volume describes the human skulls excavated on Easter Island during the 1955-1956 expedition organized by Thor Heyerdahl. After a careful analysis the author concludes that these human skulls were Polynesian in origin and likely came from Marquesas islands. This contrasts with the view of Thor Heyerdahl who thought the Easter islanders came from western South America. A fine copy in a complete very good dust jacket that shows rubbing and sunning to the spine..
