Publisher's original one-half brown leather, spine with five raised bands that is gilt lettered in three compartments, over yellow-brown marbled boards, with pale green floral endpapers, 4to. The title roughly translates to: ""The bones and muscles of the extremities in the snakes similar to dinosaurs - a comparative anatomical treatise."" There is an old book plate of the Department of Animal Biology library on the front endpaper and an old blind stamp of the library at the top of the title page; there are no other library marks. This volume is from the research library of herpetologist Kevin W. Marx with his signature on the front endpaper. Light wear to the outer joints and to the corners, text and plates are very bright and clean; a tight copy in very good condition in an attractive period-style binding..
