Austin (past Director of the Austin Ornithological Research Center in Wellfleet, MA and past Curator of Ornithology at the Florida Museum of Natural History), with his rectangular Japanese/English name-stamp seal on the front endpaper. Austin from Lee Won Kyong, Minister of Culture and Information on the protection of habitat for the white naped crane and presenting this copy of 'Birds designated as Natural Monuments in Korea.' There is a second letter from Austin to Lee Wong Kyong, dated Dec. 11, 1974, on the Crane Conservation proposal being backed by the International Crane Foundation and transmitting a copy of the crane proposal. A third signed letter, dated Dec. 5, 1974, is attached from Marie R. Oesting, Assistant Director of the International Crane Foundation, to Oliver Austin asking him to write to Lee Wong Kyong in order to transmit a copy of 'A Crane Conservation Proposal' authored by Kim Hon Kyu and George Archibald. Finally, a typescript copy of the 12 page 'A Crane Conservation Proposal' is attached; this includes two crane migration maps, one habitat map and a four page list of the birds present in English, Latin, and Korean. An interesting association copy. Small bumps to outer corners of volume; a bright and clean copy in fine condition with all correspondence included in an envelope from the AMNH in New York..
